Why you need to blog, and how often

I’ve been bad at keeping this blog up to date lately, so here’s a topical article: Why you need a blog, and how often you need to update it to get traffic to your websites and-more crucially-more leads.

Why You Need to Blog, and How Often

This is sort of old news now, but you wouldn’t be here if you already knew how often you needed to blog to get traffic.

The short answer is: 20 times a month, as this shocking graph shows:

Graph of lead generation vs. frequency of blogging, showing companies who blog 20 times or more get 4 times as many leads as those who do not

Shocking stuff. Companies who blog 20 times or more a month generate 4 times as many leads as those who blog fewer than 5 times a month. The same report goes on to show that blogging 20 times a month or more generates 5 times more traffic to your site, and companies with more than 200 blog articles on their site can expect to see 2.5 times more leads than those with under 20 articles.

The take-away?

  1. Write a blog.
  2. Update it at least every working day.
  3. Aim to get at least 200 articles as quickly as possible, if you don’t already have that many.

You can read the entire report here (PDF).
